For the record, I am extremely fiscally responsible and pay all bills on time.
This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They claim superb service on their website, yet when I called to talk about my account, the representative got coarse, started yelling, refused to let me speak to a manager and hung up the phone. This is a collection service, to be fair. I am sure they get upset people all the time. However, when a collection company a) does not notify of a collection against you b) refuses to work WITH insurance companies c) does not follow through with what it says it will do--- they deserve all the negative reviews possible on the global web.
In my specific situation, I had a collection against me from 2 years ago that I was never notified of. Apparently my insurance should have covered a bill that they didn't. After talking with both companies in JULY, I was told all would be taken care of and the blip would disappear off of my credit report. My insurance company repeatedly requested a bill and ensuing information from GoldKey numerous times to no avail. Thus, I find myself, in JANUARY 09 still laboring over an issue that should have been cleared up months, if not years ago. As I stated above, when I called back to see what was going on, I was treated like a barbarian.
This company is for the toilet.- and so are their manners and way of doing business. As they say when we were younger, play nice. This company is deceptive and irksome. In a quick internet search, I pulled up some worrisome legal notices - search: Gold Key class action
Apparently, I am not the only one suffering from Gold Key's guileful and unfair business tactics.
