I am always looking for new and interesting restaurants in the area.\r
I read the article (and loved the pictures) in Orange Coast Magazine.\r
\r
The owner met me at the bar and was very welcoming. I was there\r
for a light meal, and a cocktail. The happy hour truly is ridiculously\r
inexpensive for the quality of food. The entire bill was 42.00.\r
\r
Let me tell you what I had.. I started with the ""Hef"". A tall drink\r
made with raspberry vodka and lemonade. I ordered the 5 sampler \r
cheese platter complete with almonds, fig jam, honey and crostini- delicious!\r
\r
Next came the steak tartare w/quail egg, 5 crostini, and a large side of pommes frites.\r
My girlfriend ordered an imported glass of beer.\r
\r
At this point I was finished, but the food was so interesting I wanted to try more.\r
\r
I ordered a nice glass of french chardonnay, as well as the french\r
dip sandwich (which is full size, and comes with another platter of skinny fries),\r
and last but not least, the incredible carne asada filet mignon mini tacos (6) with guacamole.\r
The service can be a little lax as there is a minimal staff.\r
\r
I don't understand why the bar was not full- especially now when gas is obscene, and going home means\r
watching the stock market crash, and an uncertain future on t.v. \r
\r
I have 3 ""TO GO"" boxes in the fridge- cannot wait to experience the leftovers tomorrow. \r
\r
Watching a football game, enjoying great food and sleek beautiful decor, for a minimal\r
investment is the way I choose to spend my evening.\r
\r
Please try it. See what you think....
