Good Find in Galveston 9/9/2008

Housed in what looks like a former Steak & Ale building from long ago, the Happy Buddha conjures up some really great chinese food, which includes a couple of authentic Cantonese dishes that are my personal favorites. While their prices are $1-2 higher per plate than average, they serve very plentiful and tasty quanties of each menu item. So all-in-all, it's really a good value. I particularly love thier Chicken Kew, or originally known as Hung Shu Gai Kew. Their won ton soup is always top-knotch as well, and is always delivered fresh and steaming hot to your table. Really, the only chinese restaurants that can surpass Happy Buddha, are a couple of very old, longtime favorites of mine close to Downtown Houston. Happy Buddha is by far, one of the best chinese restaurants anywhere around the Galveston area. Pros: Plentiful dishes, Fresh and hot every time Cons: Restrooms could use a little more attention more
