Owner response to BenJames poor rating 9/23/2008

It is true that Mr. ""benjames"" hired our company to repair a leaky patio door. The door did not have ANY caulking around the exterior frame of the door (the leak was presumed to be from that oversight from the builder, 5 year old house). When we looked into his problem we found that the door had been leaking for so long that the bottom frame and support for the door was all rotted out and there was a nest of carpenter ants under the door track. We had permission from the ""Mrs."" to proceed to fix the rotted wood problem. We had over 10 hours of labor and materials in repairing the rotted frame and ridding the area of the insects. We sealed the door properly and thought we fixed the leak.\r \r When ""Mr"" saw the bill for the extensive wood repairs he blew his top (communication problem between Mr. and Mrs?) and was unreasonable when describing the extent of the repairs. He threatened that he worked for the Secret Service and would make our business miserable. When we were informed of the continuance of the leaking problem (we stated on the first trip that the leak could be from the weather-stripping on the door, a minor repair but it looked good at that time) we chose not to service this customer again. The Service Technicians at Mr. Handyman do not need this type of verbal abuse from an angry customer.\r \r As owner of the Mr. Handyman I did not state that he had purchased a ""cheap"" house, only that the builder must have used cheap labor to construct his home (noticed other building construction oversights while there). Please view the other testimonials from other customers (possibly on other forums like ServiceMagic) to form an opinion to use Mr. Handyman. Thank you for your consideration. Pros: Professional, quality workmanship more
