I went to Garr's on Saturday, September 13th at 2:00 p.m. to buy three bags of Purina Equine Adult for my horse because I was not able to make it to my regular feed store, Kelton's. I emptied the first two bags into his feed container (which was completely empty minus maybe a ? scoop of feed) like I always do, not really examining the food other than to make sure it?s going in the container. When I emptied the third bag, I noticed there were maggots and flies all in the food. I dug down into the middle to see if maybe it was just the top bag, it was all three bags worth. There were so many maggots in the food, it looked like it was moving. I called the lady with whom I board my horse and she and her husband could see these maggots moving from their second story window there were that many in there. I checked the three bags and noticed that the expiration date was February 2006. I have saved all three bags, plus a sample of the feed to show Garrs and to mail to Purina. I spent $52.93 on this feed plus almost $8 on gas to drive to Garrs store, a total of $60. I have had horses for 10+ years and I have NEVER experienced anything like this. Not only do I expect to get my money back from Garrs, but I am also contacting Purina and demanding my money back from them.
Cons: They sell two year old maggot filled horse feed, They do not conduct regular inventories (apparently)
