I live down the street from this place. I drove by it a few times and thought it looked interesting from the outside: ""Eclectic Cafe"" - looks sort of, well, eclectic. I went the first time and had an okay meal. I thought it was bland. I went back, well over a year later. I thought I'd give it another chance. The second time I ordered the pasta arrabiata and added chicken to it. It was, well, bland again. The pasta was overcooked and the bowl of pasta was $18. I don't mind paying $18 for a bowl of pasta when it's good, but this was bad, really bad. I've had better frozen arrabiata from trader joe's. The two things I like about this place are, (1) the location - near the theater; and (2) the wine list. For dinner, I'll be sticking with the excellent places on Ventura Boulevard.
Pros: location, ambience
Cons: overpriced and gross food
