I had lunch at Baur's yesterday, mostly because I love architecture and the owner, Sammy Labato, has restored this wonderful old building. In fact, as I was waiting to be served and was alone, he brought me a book ot its history and of the Baur family. I had a caesar salad which was good, the croutons was the best part. Then came the dagwood, a large kaiser roll with moist chicken breast, ham and melted provolone topped with tomato. The spicy mayo was perfect with this sandwich. Salad was $8, sandwich was $10.
