literally ""Ride at your own risk"" 9/15/2008

I love to ride, and love to see that there are still places to trust you with their own horses without a trail leader, but what comes along with places like this is unfortunally unexperienced management and employees who just really see their horses as ""work"". I had a pleseant experience my first trail ride, with a leader and actrully came back the following day to a woman who beat my trail horse for not being willing for the ride. By the third time of hitting the horse in the face she then jumped on to only be bucked off. The next horse, she kept hitting the face and could tell my horse was aggitated and realized no one would ever treat my own horse like this so it makes me think what they do to all their horses. Hopefully this isn't happening to all their horses and maybe it was a bad day but no where did it say no refund, and for driving 45 minutes to only watch ""work"" horses get beatin, isn't my cup of tea. I really wouldn't go their again, for the horses sake. They are ridden all day with 15 minute breaks. The management will only give out ""rain dates"" (If the horse dies or you see unlawful activity- words by management) which obviously happens a lot, considering all the paperwork of raindates she has in her ""files"". It's a fishy place and would consider having the SPCA check it out and have someone with knowledge about horses inform them how to handle the animals. Goodluck and don't bother calling, no one will answer. Pros: Only place in area to ride without a group/leader Cons: ""Ride at your own risk"" - even if they beat the horse your on. more
