It was not so much the product that I purchsed but the rudeness and unprofessionalism of their managment/owners. I purchased a Karsdale Mozzarella cheese item from the Newbridge Farms. I arrived at the store at approximately 5:30 pm, and purchased the item dated ?sell by 9/5/2008?. When my wife got home she noticed that there was mold on it after she took it out of the fridge. I still had the receipt and it was still sealed, so I returned to the store to exchange it for another package. I received an attitude from the two gentlemen that were in charge. They said that I did not buy that product from the store. When I told them I did, they consistently said it was my fault that it was moldy and that I did something to it. They said how can a customer pick this up and buy it. My response was that it was in the front of the shelf and that I shouldn?t have to worry about that stuff considering the date was fine. I did not look on the opposite side of the package to inspect it. They continued to say that it was my fault that it was moldy and that it must have went bad by the time I got home. When I told him I was there only an hour before he said my receipt said 1:55. When I told him that was incorrect he said that there was no way it was wrong. When he checked the register to see what time it said when I was there he crumpled it up and said ""It doesn?t matter anyway"". When I asked again what time it said, he responded, it didn?t matter and that he wouldn?t sell that product to customers. So he was obviously caught on a lie, and are doctoring their cash registers. They were rude and unprofessional. Cheese does not grow mold within an hour especially after being kept cold in the fridge. My goal was to alert the store of the bad product so they can talk to the manufactuer and to get a new item...Not to get blamed for a product they sold and thrown my money back. They didn?t even want to listen what I wanted to resolve the dispute.
Pros: local business, not unreasonably priced
Cons: managment will blame you for the bad product in their store
