I had been using Dr. Pilch for a good 8 years and recommended him to everybody I knew who had pets. He was always very thorough and personable. I had rescued a dog and had the dog for about two years (had the yearly exams, blood work, etc.). Dr. Pilch told me it was very important that my dog have her teeth cleaned because the bacteria could cause heart problems, kidney failure, etc. He said the best way and only way to give her a good cleaning would be under anesthesia. I never doubted him and always did exactly what he recommended for my animals. Had my dogs blood work, x-rays, everything was normal right before the cleaning. I dropped my dog off one morning and later that afternoon Dr. Pilch called me and said he had terrible news - my dog died during this routine teeth cleaning.
