Our cat sustained some sort of injury to his hip (not sure what) on a Thurs. Took him to the vet where they took xrays and sedated him to look for the problem. The vet couldn't find anything wrong, but put him on pain meds anyway ($350 total bill). On the next Tues, I noticed a small hole near his hip with puss coming out. Took the cat back where they re-examined him and he had been bitten by another cat and because it wasn't caught, was infected and required surgery ($450 total bill). (We really didn't feel like we should have had to pay since it was clearly the original injury that they missed the first time). The vet mentioned that they found a third bite mark they purposefully didn't treat because there was no sign of infection. One week after getting the stitches out, the third hole opened up and was infected. Went back to the vet, my husband was adamant that we not pay for this since the vet was clearly negligent.
