A Bite of Heaven 8/12/2008

One bite and I closed my eyes and concentrated on extracting all the flavors of a rich full-bodied veal stock with a mountain of Porcini mushrooms on veal medallions that were cooked ever so slightly. I have eaten my way through 32 countries and always eat at 5 star and 4 star restaurants that have the reputation of excellence. Who would imagine that tucked away in the back of shopping mall in Anaheim Hills would I have one of the greatest meals in my life. The bread was fresh from the oven and, as I always do, I put it to my nose to see if I smelled yeast. Only freshly baked bread made from scratch have that yeasty smell. The frozen bread that is served today is an abomination to God and man. But Foscari bakes its own bread and I had to resist filling up on it. The dessert was worthy to be served to the Pope. My family and I will be back many times to the greatest secret in Orange County. more
