Rothmann's is a good restaurant but understand...It's expensive...very expensive...The last time I went with my girlfriend 2 filet mignon's were $70 and were OK..2 baked potatos were $12 and were OK...The Asparagus was $8.00 and was above average...The shrimp scampi appetizer at $15.95 was above average...The Tomato and Mozzerella appetizer was $9.95 and below average and overpriced...My girlfriends glass of wine was $9.00 and was OK...MY ginger ale was $3.00 and portion was small and extremely skimpy...The creme brulee dessert was $5.95 as was OK...The total check was $133.85...The tax was $11.54...and out of the goodness of my heart I gave the waiter an 8% tip which added $10.70 to the bill...normally I tip nothing...My view on tipping is the same view Steve Bucemi's character had in the movie Reservior Dogs...If your gonna work a job where the base salary is $4.00 and hour and your relying on peoples good nature for a living you have to understand that you will- from time to time -be waiting on people like me who resent the entire practice...You would think at these prices the service should be included like it is in other countries.\r

The Bruch is good but expect to pay about $68 per person...True it has all you can eat lobster (which was cold) along with other items...Expect to pay $68 per person...They will be adding an 18% gratuity to the bill...This is wrong because you are getting up constantly to serve yourself...all the waiters do is bring you Mimosas that are being poured from a servi bar not even 25 feet from the table. I loved getting to give this guy almost 10 dollars for bringing me 3 mimosas and having the bus boy take away the dirty plates.\r

Don't get me wrong...I will be returning to Rothmann's in the future with my girlfriend..we go about once a year...and the waiter will be getting his usual 8% tip. I've never had a job in my life where people were expected to give me tips...\r
