We finally visited Copper Kettle after years of hearing good things about it. While the ambience is inferior even to a Cracker Barrel, the smell was heavenly when we entered the restaurant. Alas, the food did not match the enticing aroma. The meatloaf was mushy and drowned in a bland tomato sauce. The vegetables were only serviceable. The black-eyed peas were salty and the fried okra was a bit too crunchy. The mashed potatoes were palatable, but the green bean casserole was OK. In brief, it was an underwhelming experience (and the prices were higher than Cracker Barrel). We will not return for a second visit.
Pros: Polite service
Cons: Difficult parking, indifferent cuisine
