I met my brother for dinner at the bar, and we had a great meal, although we only ate appetizers and salads. I had a beet and goat cheese salad which had several perfectly cooked beet slices and a warmed slice of goat cheese, followed by a baked bean and pork belly appetizer - very Bostonian! My brother had the wedge salad with bacon, blue cheese and nuts followed by the carpaccio appetizer. The carpaccio was the highlight - high quality olive oil and mild beef flavor. The selection of wines by the glass was interesting and diverse with varying price points. The bartender, ""Murph"", was friendly and accommodating, offering tastes of wine to see which we liked. Plus, the Red Sox were winning when we left! The regular menu is EXPENSIVE - right up with the highest Boston has to offer.
Pros: Quality and flavor of food, variety of wine, service
Cons: Regular menu was expensive
