I have had insurance with Allstate for about a year now and have had a few minor issues with them----including having to call four times over several months just to update my address. Recently I have been considering selling items on eBay and because my insurance policy pamphlet is rather vague, I called my local insurance agent at Redden Insurance in Duncan, OK to see how that might affect my homeowners insurance policy. At first the agent I spoke with didn't understand my question and when I tried to clarify it for him, he told me to listen to him if I wanted my question answered, otherwise hang up. When I was finally able to explain what I was asking, he told me that selling one or two items wouldn't affect it but if I sold fifty items it might void my policy. I am also a freelance writer and have been trying to sell a couple of books I've written. He told me if I sold a novel it would definitely void my insurance policy.
