I am a Dad from TX, who has a daughter going to college in Miami. My daughter expressed to me today that her car got towed on Alton in a parking lot. The parking lot has 3 stores, one being a dollar store that she went into which you are authorized to park as long as you go into one of 3 stores. When she came out of the dollar store, the tow driver was towing her car. My daughter said she tried to explain to the tow driver that she was coming out of the dollar store, but without any success. Then she mentioned to him she could pay the on the spot fee without him having to tow her car off. Which he quoted her an amt of $57.90. My daughter friend was there and they explained to him they needed to go to her car to get the money. While attempting to go to her friend's car which was on the premises, the tow driver pulled off. My daughter ended up having to go to their location and pay an amt of $145.00. I think this is a very unusual and unethical practice of just a way to make money or more money from citizens. Also, I called Tremont Towing and spoke with Frank Mi the supposedly owner. I asked him if my daughter could just pay the $57.90 since she was offering to pay that on the spot and his tow driver just simply pulled off. Of course, Frank Mi decline my offer stating he did not make deals. In response to that I wasn't asking him to make a deal. I was asking him to take my request into consideration because his tow driver simply drove off in order to not accept the $57.90, but to make the service charge of $145.00 by having to come to their location. Also, Frank Mi was one of the most rudest and inconsiderate persons that I have ever spoke with. I called back a couple of times and spoke with an employee who refused to give me his name as well. He did give me a Mgr name Robert to speak with at 6:00 supposedly. Not sure how that will go based on my experience with Frank Mi and the other anonymous employee.\r
