House of Tapai in Huntersville WAS one of my favorite restaurants to dine. I would drive from East Charlotte to this restaurant practically every Saturday afternoon or evening just to enjoy their meals. However, on my last, (and FINAL) visit to this restaurant, I found the manager and one particular female server less concerned about the satisfaction of me as their customer than anything else. I expressed to the manager that I was unhappy with the taste of the chicken (my order was the Beef and Chicken Dual). The chicken was rubbery and not seasoned. My request was to remove the chicken, and bring the full serving of the other portion of beef. Instead, the manager DEFENDED HIS DISTRIBUTOR and gives me a ""dissertation"" about how long he had used this particular distributor and that they are the best. My problem was not the distributor, but the taste of my meal. Instead of focusing on my desires as a customer and responding to my distaste of the meal, he basically told me that if I had a problem with the meat, I should've ordered something else. Now, uh, how could I know the food was unsatisfactory without eating it first? Anyways, I found this manager to be unresponsive to the needs of me as his customer, and unwilling to meet my request to simply bring me the complete quantity of the beef minus the chicken! Not only that, I was charged for the regular price for my meal! I expected this manager to do what he had to do to keep a customer who has visited his restaurant not only EVERY weekend, but ever since he first began in the University area. I WILL NOT be returning to this restaurant, and not only that, every single person that I have ever referred this restaurant to will be aware of the BELOW STANDARD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. I hope losing 20-50 customers was worth this manager not satisfying the needs of one customer. This restaurant may be experienced in providing good food, but sometimes, good food is not enough to keep customers returning.
Pros: variety of dishes
Cons: uncaring server
