My boyfriend and I are expecting a child and were trying to find a place to live together as a family. Since I don't make alot of money and the rent is income based we thought it would be perfect. The exterior looked fabulous and the land lady seemed really nice and helpful. Because the rent is income based she told me not to put my boyfriend on the lease with me because he makes too much money. We filled out the application with her help and was told that our deposit would be held untill we knew that we had an appartment. I tried calling this lady for three days in a row to see about our application results and finally had to drive out to the office for her to tell me that she could not rent to me because I was a convicted felon!!!! You can imagine that I panicked and went straight to the police department seeing as how I have never been in trouble in my life!! No record!! I tried calling her to tell her I could bring a copy of my information and hopfully that would proof enough to get a lease. Never returned my calls.
