Great school, not as conservative as you may think 7/4/2008

I want to respond to the last rating which states that Baylor is very full of rules and ultra conservative. It may have been that way in the 90's when that person attended, but not so much so now. It is still Baptist, however, much of the strictness has been lessened. There are dances and plenty of male/female interaction. However, last year they just opened the first co-ed dorm. There are still visiting hours but go until 2:00 a.m. so it isn't so bad. Most students move off campus by junior year and many by sophomore year, so that factor really affects most students when they are freshman only and are getting used to being on their own. Chapel is still required but it is more or less character building and food for thought, not necessarily religious. The Greek scene may be big, but still only around 30% of students go Greek. There are plenty of other activities outside of Greek life. more
