I learned to ride at Windermere, beginning at age 11. One of the things that impressed me the most is the fact that the old, bombproof school horses I started on as a kid were still alive, healthy, and living happily in semi-retirement (or complete retirement!) even now (though some have passed on, they lived at windermere until they died). You know a barn is a good barn when they treat their old horses with the respect they deserve.
Pros: well cared for, well trained horses. Beautiful facilites, knowledgable instructors, automatic waterers, large arenas
Cons: turn out is somewhat limited
