I have been to Mina's a number of times and while I like it, it could be better, especially factoring in the cost for services there. I love that they give you a jacket to wear while you're getting your hair colored! I like not worrying about my top getting hair dye on it! I see Kelley and she listens well and does a great job with cut and color. My little bugaboo is that for the cost and ambience of the salon I feel clients should be pampered more. The reception folks don't come across as friendly or attentive. It really annoys me that when I'm figuring out the tip when I check out that I'm only told the total amount with products added in. I always have to ask for it to be broken out for me and it's like I'm the only person who ever asks that. I also am surprised that water is self serve - like "go get yourself some water if you like". It's good water, but every other salon I've been to would offer and bring it to me. Unless you're actually being worked on you kind of get ignored by everyone. Other places I've been to had staff that would smile at you, acknowledge you, ask you if you need anything - just little courtesies. I like the result of the work and my stylist, but it sometimes seems like a big styling factory with a big price tag. I would still recommend Mina's based on how well my hair is done, it would just be nice if the overall feeling of the place was warmer and more client focused.
Pros: expanded hours, parking, product lines, good stylists
Cons: big and busy, impersonal atmosphere, cost
