Echota has two developments. The original is just off Rt.105 and is where the rental office and indoor pool is located. The newer development on the ridge requires a short, very steep, winding drive worthy of the very best mountain goat. The effort is well-rewarded with some of the best scenic views available to renters in the area.\r

The Ridge at Echota includes all relatively new units of two and three bedroom condos. Many of the east-facing units have a great view of Grandfather Mountain. The west-facing buildings have a spectacular and extensive valley view.\r

We had a loft unit which included two downstairs bedrooms and a third sleeping area in the loft with two beds (the kids liked that).\r

Kitchens are nice and well-appointed. Layout and design is good.\r

There is an outdoor pool and recreation building nearby for all Ridge residents and guests. Well-equipped exercise room, billiard room and clubhouse. \r

You can't beat the location: short drives to Valle Crucis, Boone, Grandfather Mountain and Blowing Rock. \r
Pros: The ridge has great views
Cons: Goats are best suited for the climb up there!
