This vet gets NO stars. He is a blight on the veternarian profession.\r
\r
My african timneh grey became sick yesterday and I called Dr. Wilhelm's emergency line for help. He did return my call within 10 minutes, however, his phone manner certainly could use improvement. But that's not what's important. \r
\r
Before we got to the vet, my bird died. We decided to go anyway, thinking that perhaps he could give us some insight into why this bird that I have had for 20 years would suddenly get sick and die.\r
\r
Instead, when we arrived at the vet hospital, the doors were locked. My husband saw someone inside and knocked on the door, but the person did not come to the door. Next my husband goes to the side of the building to see if he could find an open entrance there. I'm standing in front of the building holding my dead bird, distraught. I hear a ""click"" when the door was finally unlocked, but Dr. W. didn't see fit to polk his head out to tell us to come in. I call to my husband and we go inside. The vets back is to us as he's logging onto his computer. I tell him our bird died. He turns around, looks at me blankly and says he's sorry in a way that couldn't have been less sincere. He did not offer to look at my bird, to look at his cage, nothing. He repeated ""I'm sorry"" about every 10th beat. He offered nothing in the way of theory as to why my bird might have died. \r
\r
Worst experience with a vet I've ever had. If he's that way with people, I can't imagine he's very tender with the animals. \r

Thanks for the extra trauma, Dr. Wilhelm.
Pros: Returned my phone call, didn't charge me for his trip in since my bird was dead already.
Cons: NO bedside manner. No compassion. Apparently, no knowledge of animals.
