Can not handle large groups 6/13/2008

Our Miata group started meeting there because of the location and nice big parking lot on the side - maybe most people don't realize there is parking beyond on the street. The atmosphere is nice. Food is good for what it is, prices not bad. HOWEVER, don't expect much service if you are in a group. Let me quote a member: ""I won't be going back to Fillmore"", when asked why, and you won't believe this...""I asked for my check at 10:15 got it at 11:00 and it was wrong"" he told the waitress and her answer was a little unbelievable. She said that another staff person closed his tab and gave it to someone else, so she asked him to just pay this one (which was more than his should have been) as it would ""sure help her out"". When this came up on our forum, it turned out SEVERAL people were treated the same way - given wrong checks and asked to pay them ""anyway"". She also accused/said that one of the members left without paying and then guilted people into paying tabs that were not theirs. My thought is - this group doesn't arrive all at once. The wait staff has plenty of time between taking orders, and serving orders to be organized. The group is now looking for someplace else to meet each week. Other complaints were that it is noisy, our group sat at the big table in the middle of the pub and you can barely hear the person sitting next to you. Fillmore - you're losing some good business on an otherwise slow weeknight because your wait staff can not handle a large group. Check out Dallas Morning News' guidelive review as well - seems they too have a few issues with service. These other reviews must have been posted by friends or employees because they don't exactly tell the story straight. Pros: Location, atmosphere, large parking lot on the side Cons: Noisy, wait staff unorganized more
