Our service was slow and inattentive. It seemed our waiter attended to two of the four tables instead of checking all the tables during his table visits. After eating our salads and having the plates cleared, the waiter then came over and asked us if we had even received our salads yet. He seemed overwhelmed.
After waiting for our entrees, which we considered to arrive in an untimely manner, we noticed the manager visiting tables in this section. He visited two of the three remaining tables, bypassing our table and not inquiring about our experience. At this point, we had comments to share with the manager about our service. Unfortunately, we were unable to talk with him then because he did not look our way.
We asked a food runner for the manager to visit our table. When asked why he had not stopped by our table to see how our service was, he replied that we were just beginning our entrees and did not want to interrupt. However, he did visit the table next to us even though their entrees had arrived shortly before ours. We felt slighted that we were not one of the important 60 tables in the restaurant. We had concerns and feedback for the manager in regards to our service. While apologetic, the manager's response was he had 60 tables to attend, and he could not visit all of the the tables in a timely fashion. He told us he was "sorry we felt that way", and repeated that line over and over. This response disappointed us. A genuine apology for the lack of service was all we needed.
We felt that the service by the waiter was below standards. The manager's concern for our feelings was insincere. We did not ask for any portion of our meal to be taken off the bill. We just wanted to express our dissatisfaction, hoping that further patrons would have a more pleasant dining experience than we did.
