I'd never been to a consignment shop before a friend turned me on to the Designer Consignor. I got some unwanted clothing together and met her there on a Saturday morning to do my first consignment. If you're planning on bringing merchandise in to sell, remember that they only take certain items seasonally. Check their website for details (thedesignerconsignor dot net). They took all but one item that I brought in, and sold 2 within the first couple of days! They update the website daily to reflect what they've sold from each consignor, so be sure to hold on to your consignor number. You get 40% of the profits!\r After I turned my own things in, I took a look around the store. I'd previously thought that since the shop had the word ""designer"" in the name that I wouldn't be able to afford anything there, even secondhand, but I was wrong! I picked up an adorable vintage strapless summer dress with a red & white flower pattern and red belt for just $15, and several nice shirts for work from the ""new arrivals"" section for only a couple dollars each. \r Don't let the word ""designer"" scare you off. They will take any label for consignment as long as it is currently in fashion and in excellent, wearable condition (and in season, of course!) Prices are a bit higher than Unique or Goodwill, but so is the level of quality. I love this place! Pros: friendly employees, great selection, fair prices Cons: parking situation more
