Kara called too late for us to save Nara, our 1 year old cat. 5/2/2008

We have used the Point Loma Cat Care services for 6 years but this time we lost our 1 year old cat Nara. This was her third time there in 3 months. We dropped her off April 7, 2008 and 11 days later we got a call from Kare telling us Nara was sick. Two hours later Nara was in the VCA Emergency Animal Hospital. We found out she was critical and told them to do whatever they could to save her. She died that morning.\r After returning to San Diego we got the report from VCA Emergency Animal Hospital. It was disturbing. According to the report, ""In hindsight the pet sitter (Kare) feels she (Nara) has been less active than previously and somewhat anorexic for the entire time they were watching her. 2-3 days prior to presentation she (Nara) became more lethargic and stopped eating. She had some tuna juice 24 hours prior to presentation. She ejected food 2 days ago and ejected clear progressing to green today three times. They planned on taking her to the rDVM until 1 am when she was crying and urinated on herself. She was having difficulty breathing. The pet sitter then presented her to the hospital.""\r Kare implied in the report we dropped off a sick Nara 11. Kare did not call us. Later Nara was not eating. Kare did not call us. 2 to 3 days prior to being admitted to the hospital Nare started ejecting. Kare did not call us. Finally , after Nara suffered for 11 days, ejecting 3 times the last day of her life, Kare called us but it was too late. We will never know if Nara could have been saved. We miss her so much and when I think of Nara I just wish I had been given the chance to help her. Nara left this world the way she arrived, unloved and uncared for.\r Kare is not capable of making judgments about a cat's health. She should not be responsible for overseeing the health of cats and deciding when medical care is warranted. The only was she could stay in business is by hiring a vet tech to check on the cats daily to decide when medical care is needed. more
