Best Northern Italian and fine dining in Denver 5/5/2008

This is the best Northern Italian restaurant in Denver. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful on the inside other then the somewhat ugly sound proofing on the ceiling. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and the wine list and recommended two excellent wines that paired very nicely with my meal. He and the chef were accommodating when another member of my party asked to have an entree heavily modified. The bread-sticks on the table are pretty good but a bit dry. They serve them with an olive dipping sauce that is quite good, if you like olives. The rosemary focaccia bread is very good but they only give you one small piece for each diner and you have to ask for butter and/or olive oil. The Antipasti Assortiti appetizer is phenomenal, with a wonderful assortment of three perfect tasting meats. For a main course, the braised duckling is rightfully their specialty. The portion is actually quite large and a good value at the price. The duck is excellently seasoned and braised with a highly complimentary olive based sauce. The accompanying small square roast potatoes are divine. The creme brulee is an excellent desert and is enough for between 2-4 people to share, making it a good value. I will definitely recommend this to anyone seeking the best high end dining experience in Denver. Pros: Excellent Food, Knowledgeable and accommodating wait-staff, Beautiful ambience Cons: They don't give olive oil/ butter with bread unless requested more
