I joined this service because I was moving to the LA area from Minnesota with only 20 days to find a place to live and knew nothing about the areas. I set up an appointment to meet with someone from Apartment Hunters (free with their service they say) well I showed up and no one was there, I had to call the company 800 number and she had to call someone to come meet me. I felt like a burden more than a paying customer. He sat down with me and did just what I had been doing for the past week, searching for apartment listings on their website. He barely let me get a word in edgewise when I was trying to tell him where I did and didn't want to live and seemed in a hurry to get rid of me. A lot of the listings didn't have pictures and that is just fishy, in todays day it should not be hard to provide a picture of the apartment complex at the least. Needless to say I did not end up finding a place to live through apartment hunters, it was a lot of money I wasted and they did nothing for me, it is actually really rather frusterating. I found my apartment through Apartment Magazine and it is nicer and a better deal than anything I found at apartment hunters. Just be aware that Apartment Hunters won't do anything for you that you can't do for yourself for free.
Pros: a lot of listings, user friendly search engine
Cons: don't do what they say they will do, not a lot of pictures with their listings, DEFINITELY not worth the money
