Terrible Ethics and Poor Employer. I would be weary of buying, read on.... 5/23/2008

I formerly worked for this company and I will give you insight on the people you could be buying from. I was hired on to do warranty work and what I can tell you is that before my hiring there was a bunch of work to be done. 25 houses with warranty items over a YEAR long had not been taken care of. That right there should tell you about customer service and their priorities. Also the way they run their business is very questionable legally. They told me I would be an employee but really they meant you will be subcontracting for us and we will not be paying your taxes. ( this means they can hide it under the carpet and ave money as a buisiness...way to take care of your employees ENCH) . In fact, the receptionist is also a subcontractor, thats how crumby it is...and she is the CFO's sister! Also Jim required me as work to work on his personal home and remodel for him for a month. He even had me help move Liz and He into their new house, and do some wiring, with, no sort of compensation. Now I have been in the position as Contractor and one thing I can tell you is that you dont require or ask your employees to do personal work for you without any compensation. Moving on though, the main reason I would steer you away from ENCH is because of the way they handle subcontractors. They pay subcontractors very late after work has been completed and go through them like water. Part of it is finding good work, but let me ask you a question. Would you want to do work for someone who won't pay their bill on time? Thats how ENCH operates and why they go through so many subcontractors. Now think about this as well for a moment. Why would you buy a house from someone who has new subcontractors that they have never worked with, or worked with very minimally? I mean to me, you want to have a good relationship with those who help get your houses built or else you could come up with sub-par construction just depending on who they hire next to fill in the gap...just think about it. more
