I am an instructor for and student of ninth street dance and am so happy I found this studio. The atmosphere and energy of the studio is great and there are so many different types of classes you can take. I have taken dance classes at several different studios around the triangle and Ninth Street stuck out to me the most for many reasons. The studio has a funky and relaxed, community feel to it, which truly fits in to the ninth street/ downtown durham collective of restaurants/services. The class size is appropriate to the type of dance class you're taking, the popularity of the class, and the time in which the class is held. The rates for taking class are really amazing compared to most studios, and if you've missed a class you can do a make-up in any dance class you want (as long as its within the session you're registered for, ie no making up a class you missed a year ago!) All of the instructors I've taken with have been very knowledgable about what they teach and very attentive to the needs of all levels of students. Regarding the one negative review of Ninth Street dance, no, the studio is not filthy and the staff isn't rude. There's obviously a reason why the studio has so many students and successfully offers so many classes, everyone loves it!
Pros: Many different classes and lots of levels, great people
Cons: parking
