I would never refer anyone to Dr. Newton 5/16/2008

This is my first review anywhere. I went to see Dr. Newton and at first everything seemed very pleasant, however I do agree she overcharges and farms too much out. My whole experience was tainted and then terminated over one silly misunderstanding. They indicated I need two procedures done, told me the price and then had me sign a form indicating I knew how much the procedure would cost. It was too costly and I decided to postpone. Two months later one of the women called from the front desk to say I should get the procedure done because it was almost the end of the year and it was covered. Yippee, I took covered to mean ""paid for"" (unlikely I know, but I had a lot going on at the time). I had it done - 3 months later they sent me a bill for $900 + so I called to tell them the bill must be a mistake. They reminded me that I had agreed to the cost. I couldn't remember (hey, I'm 58) so asked them to send me a copy. They did, I realized I had screwed up, there was no way out. Within two days of receiving that information and before I could call to work out payments, they turned me over to collection and thank you very much it is now on my credit report. Clearly, they weren't interested in my patronage even though there were no previous issues. I guess immediate payment of $900 was worth more than a lifetime relationship (and payments). I hope she is a better dentist than she is a business woman or maybe she should just fire her bookkeeper. I now have a personable, caring dentist at the top of the medical dental bldg in Seattle. I get to look all over Seattle while they work on my teeth. An aside, while other dentists offer free whitenings, she offered toothbrushes and now a $25.00 gas card. Proof of either greed or bad business. Pros: close to home Cons: nice staff more
