Not a good place for younger dancers........... 5/15/2008

I had my daughter age 4 at the time was in 2 classes at this studio for a few months and after she had been dancing already for two years full-time I thought that this would be a great place for her to continue her instruction after we moved to the area. I was wrong, the actual dance teacher Ms. Lisa was great but the owner Joan was the problem. Classes would be moved to the other end of the shopping center without any notice and no sign on the door to tell you why the door was locked or where to go, the main studio was extremely hot in the lobby every week with a floor fan to cool the waiting parents which had huge gaps perfect for our 19 month old to cut his fingers off in while we waited and the dress code was not enforced and unfair for the kids who did follow the rules. Plus classes never started on time. Since most kids never came in on time class waited till they all arrived. We wanted our daughter to continue with her dance education, structure & discipline. The poor teacher was not backed up by the owner who by the way was always in the office during class. The teacher was more like a babysitter because the waiting parents never were made to step in when their child wanted to lay on the floor or fight over mats. Parents did not take this class seriously and I blame the owner for not running a professional dance studio for ALL ages not just her older competition girls. I felt that our money was like ""extra fun money"" to the studio and the younger aged girls had rinky dink classes with no real structure. Kids were even bringing in their own toys to class. This is a dance class not a daycare. We liked the teacher but not the owner. What a shame! Pros: Miss Lisa Cons: the owner more
