Food and ambience of a restaurant you would find in France. The food here was SUPER!!! It was 6 o'clock on Friday evening. We had no reservations and a group of 6! Because it was early in the evening we got a table for all of us "for the night" at this completely booked restaurant. This was a beginning for an unforgetable dinner. Three appetisers: escargos (snails), herbs in a lite cream/butter sauce cooked in a pastry "bag" was a perfection of flavor and tenderness. Mushrooms in a beef rendering that tasted fabulous. New Foundland mussels sitting in a bowl of white garlic sauce were so soft and flavorfull that one of the party now enjoyes mussels. There must have been 25 mussels in that bowl!! We had a very wonderful wait staffer with intelligent input as to the wine selection. We went with her choice and the table was so happy. The entrees were so good!! I'll say that again: the entrees were SO GOOD !!! Local bison and lamb were SUPER tasting and extraordinarily tender. The veal was soft as butter with a flavor fit for royalty. The weak plate was the duck breast; came with alot of skin fat making for a super small edible portion, with a over salty sauce. All of the entrees were cooked to perfection and all had their own distinctive marvelous taste. This entree course was "top notch" even to the palates of us that have vacationed for weeks in France. It keeps on getting better. Desert!! Three of them, hey there are 6 of us and so far the food has been too good not to try the La Petite Maison's deserts. All three of these deserts were very large, beautiful to look at and more so to eat. Great coffee also finished the dinner. My brother said it "was the best dinner I've ever had". Over all: one of the best wait staffers we've encountered in the years of dinning. A kitchen that stands with their feet in France. This was a wonderfully magnificent experience that will be remembered forever by our group. Pros: Superb food all lovingly French, that will last in memory forever. Cons: We were in Colorado and not in France. more
