I first contacted Boyd Mechanical yesterday (May 10th, 2008) concerning my AC unit not working. The temperature in our home had shot up to over 90F in a matter of hours and one of my dogs had suffered a heat stroke due to the extreme heat (English Bulldogs are very susceptible to heat).
I found your add in the yellow pages and liked that the add stated in most cases systems are repaired within 6 hours from the time called... I had an emergency on my hands and prompt service was necessary. I spoke with one of your reps named Stephanie. I explained what had happened and the urgency of the situation (I run an English Bulldog rescue and had 3 in the heat. 1 had a very close call!). Stephanie told me they couldn't get anyone here that night but would have someone out Sunday morning.
I called Stephanie on Sunday morning to get an approx time on when to expect the repair man. She told me the guy usually called in around 10am and to expect him at the house between 12-2pm. I ask her to call me once confirmed so that I would know for certain he was coming.
She never called.
At 3:30 I FINALLY received a call from her telling me the repair man was running late (keep in mind he was supposed to be here between 12-2pm!) Thankfully after not receiving her confirmation call I had already called another company who were decent enough to show up at the exact time promised.
I hope you've heard the saying a happy customer will most likely refer your company to friends and family but an unhappy customer will tell the world. I fully intend to tell as many people about the shoddy service I received without your company even stepping on my property.
