I am a registered nurse of nearly 30 years...I have had several orthopedic injuries and surgeries to repair fractures, the most painful was a neck fusion in 2003... I was told at the time that should the need arise where another neck surgery was necessary, I would be permanently disabled, in chronic pain and run a high risk of paralysis as well as other horrible conditions. Well the time came that I once again needed neck surgery, this time to fuse my entire neck...I was terrified. Seemed my future was dark and without hope... then I met Bob. Bob explained to me the benefit massage therapy and hypnosis...I was a bit skeptical but agreed to meet with Bob and try hypnosis... I found Bob to be honest, open and very easy to relate to and soon felt comfortable enough to pursue hypnosis. I was expected to be hospitalized for 5 days; I was out in 2 days. I have very little pain, the feeling has returned to a once "dead" arm, I had no anxiety going into surgery and none after. My first post-op check up was two weeks after surgery and the surgeon was blown away. An xray of my neck showed what appeared to be a "healed neck fusion"...an xray that no one expected to see for another 3 months. I am now released to return to work on May 1st, 2008, 2 months earlier than the surgeon had indicated prior to surgery. I am on top of the world and thank Bob for giving me the tools to heal and have a normal life. I am no longer a skeptic but a strong believer. I am in the Master's program for nursing and have chosen the benefit of hypnosis and massage therapy in musculo-skelatal injuries as my clinical project... Hypnosis, massage therapy and other alternative modalities serve a vital role in obtaining the wellness that we all desire and I thank Bob for opening my eyes to the benefits and giving my quest for wellness a big boost in the arm!
