Had our first meal at this new Alameda restaurant tonight. Loved the bar - bartender was very friendly and cocktails were great! The appetizers we ordered were equally great - especially enjoyed the asparagus with ricotta salada and the risotto appetizer were as tasty as we had been told. When we finally were seated at our table the evening started to slip a bit. Service was extremely slow - took nearly half an hour to receive the soup and another half hour before our entrees arrived. This could have been easier to take had our waiter taken any notice at all! He showed up to take our orders - rushed in (interrupting conversation) to ask if we might like drinks - and never showed up again until our dinners were finally served! We all thoroughly enjoyed our entrees - very fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked , well-balanced flavors...unfortunately the poor service took away from this. Perhaps the friendly young woman who seated us could take a more personal interest in the tables...perhaps the kitchen could speed up a bit... perhaps they could interview for new wait staff........... We will return later in the summer for a comparison and hope to embrace this new addition to Alameda's limited gourmet establishments.
Pros: food, food, food
Cons: service service - noise level
