Several days ago I stopped in at Cycle Stop to purchase a few Harley parts. Because of past problems with poor customer service attitudes, I only shop at this store for parts that I'm in a hurry for and don't have the time to drive out of town to my usual supplier. An incident occurred this day that made me decide that I would never do business with them again.
The store had all of the parts I needed except for 1 and after paying for my parts I asked the counterman if he could give me the phone number of another local Harley shop so I could call them and see if they had the last part. I was told No, he wasn't going to give me the number, and with a snotty voice asked if I would ask a K mart employee for Walmart's phone number. I was stunned at this attitude and told the man that it was common practice for a business to call a competitor to help out a customer needing a part they didn't have in stock. To this he replied that I was wrong, this isn't the way companies do things. I then told him that the Harley shop I normally deal with in Arkport had in fact on several occasions called Cycle Stop to check on a part for me. To this he replied that it was nice that they had the time to waste. I'd like to add that at the time of this incident, there were 2 guys behind Cycle Stop's parts counter and I was the only customer there.
From now on I'm going to drive to Arkport, Batavia or Macedon to spend my money. It's a nice ride to either place and The counter people there are friendly and appreciate a customer spending his money in their shop. Cycle Stop apparently has so much business that they can afford to be Rude and unfriendly to their customers.
