I selected the For Women group basically out of the phonebook for this pregnancy of mine since we have recently moved to the Cincinnati area. I was pleased to find out that they deliver at Good Sam, my choice of hospital. The receptionist on the phone was very friendly and concluded my appointment scheduling with directions to the Evendale office. \r

I had to take my 3-year-old daughter with me to my first appointment, but this was not a problem at all. I saw Dr. Wurzbacher and immediately fell in love with her! She engaged my daughter and kept the conversation flowing. She went over a detailed health history with me and made arrangements for me to have bloodwork that was appropriate to my history, rather than just the standard testing. I had an exam which was also fine. We got in and out of the appointment in a reasonable amount of time, but not because we were rushed. I was very pleased that Dr. Wurzbacher spent adequate time with me answering questions. I was also pleasantly suprised that she encouraged me to consider a VBAC, which is something I had previously assumed I would have to fight for. This is a practice that is clearly not c-section happy, though she did tell me that if a c-section was most comfortable for me they would be happy to do that as well.\r

The only experience I have had with this practice that I haven't been impressed with was a phone call question. I was exposed to Hepatitis A virus at a local restaurant and called For Women for advice. They were not able to make a recommendation to me and said that I needed to contact my PCP. I was not happy with this answer as I do not have a PCP (again, we have just moved here). I would have preferred if they told me if the Hep A vaccine is safe in pregnancy and if the benefits outweigh the risks rather than referring me to another doctor.\r

Overall I would recommend this practice based on the single appointment I have had and am looking forward to a return visit in a few weeks.
Pros: knowledgeable, good bedside manner
