We went to dinner last night at Coho Cafe Redmond. My husband and I both ordered the Tuscan Steak Salad, when the server brought out our meal; she slipped right in front of our table and in turn dumped the entire contents of the two salads on me and my husband. My hair, the sweater and the jacket on the back of the chair, my husband?s shirt and pants were covered with balsamic vinegar. The server apologized and said she would go get the manager. The manager brought a few people to our table and mopped the floor and said she would bring our salads out again. We waited another 15 minutes with no one stopping by to check on us or offer some bread while watching my parents and my daughter eating their diner until finally the manager showed up with our salads and three vouchers for dry cleaning. I told her that of the four pieces of clothes that were stained, 3 are 100% cotton and the other one is a fleece jacket so we don?t need the dry cleaning voucher. The manager sternly replied saying that it?s really not her fault that the server slipped and the restaurant policy is dry clean vouchers, and the two salads would still be on our bill. I want to emphasize that in no point that either my husband or I asked for or even suggested a free entre; it?s the attitude of the manager that turned an unfortunate dining experience into a terrible dining experience. At that point, we were so upset that we lost all our appetite and we told the manager that we no longer wanted the salad and we?d rather go grab something to eat elsewhere after my parents were done with their meal. Right around the time that my parents were finishing their dinner, the manager showed up again at our table and told us in an annoyed voice that we didn?t have to pay for the meal knowing very well that my husband and I didn?t have the dinner. Again, we didn?t ask for a free meal, we were upset at her attitude, offering a free meal with little sincerity is really not necessary.
