If you are looking for a friendly neighborhood kitchen away from home, you will find it here. They have been our second kitchen since moving to Portland, and we have never had a bad experience, food or service wise, Unusual in inconsistent Portland restaurants. From great simple breakfasts, (2 big buttermilk pancakes, yum!) to a reasonably priced steak dinner from their own beef you can't go wrong here. Lately they have been having some great specials like grilled Corvina, a lovely whitefish from Mexico with risotto cakes, all very nicely done at a great price. It is a comfortable place to dine alone, and I was surprised to see the review by the family who had a bad experience. Although it is a bar, we often see families there and have never noticed bad treatment of them, they are usually treated just like everyone else here as part of the Industrial family. Who takes a 4 year old to a bar or saloon for their birthday anyway? Check it out for a friendly neighborhood no pretense experience.
