We have eaten at the Whistle Stop three or four times and each time the service was very poor. This time (Tuesday evening) was only about 1/4 to capacity. We waited over an hour for a steak and grilled fish. The waitress was very unattentive and would not have gotten a tip had she not put 18% on the ticket prior to presenting it to us. She overcharged us by $3.00 on one entree but had we complained, we would have been there another 30 minutes. My wife was furious and just wanted to get out of there. As good as the fried green tomatoes are, I will NEVER eat at this restaurant. I plan of bringing this to the attention of the manager, but I doubt if they will care. Avoid the Whistle Stop or have a min. of 2 hours for a meal.
Pros: fried green tomatoes are very good.
Cons: Fair to average food, service was extremely poor all three of four times we have been there.
