bad business practices 4/19/2008

I called and then dropped off my favorite down comforter for cleaning at Capitol Cleaners in Bellbrook. I was told the charge would be forty dollars and that it would take ten days since down items are sent out. Seven days later I was called and told that they required a $20 deposit to send out my comforter. When I went in and suggested to them that since the fee was not collected when I dropped the item off, that the store could have paid the deposit. Instead, the mistake was blamed on the fact that the ""employee"" was new. The attendant stood waiting for me to pay the $20 deposit and then leave empty-handed while my ""blankie"" was held hostage for another week. I'll now have my cleaning done by a business near my work instead of my home. Pros: proximity Cons: poor customer service more
