I was looking forward to having dinner at Gaucho's since I heard positive reviews, but I was extremely disappointed by our experience last night. Perhaps the restaurant is in decline. First of all, when I made the reservation and told them that it was my husband's birthday, they asked for my credit card number because they needed to ""reserve it in the computer."" I was reluctant to do this, but I figured that it was a safeguard since the reservation was for 9 people. When some of our party arrived at 6 pm, the waiter did not ask us for drinks for about 10 minutes, so we went to the bar and brought back drinks to the table. The waiter was clearly upset about this and became angry and defensive. The food was generally pretty good; the ""gauchos"" were swarming us and recommended that we take our time. Then, things went sour as soon as it was around 8 pm. Our waiter brought our check and told us that we had to leave since we were approaching our 2 hour limit for our stay. I was so shocked. No offer for dessert and coffee--the waiter just brought our check! It was appalling. When I spoke with the manager, she said that it had something to do with the computer and then asked me if the hostess, who made the reservation, informed me of their policy. My response was ""no!"" They tried to offer us a free round of drinks after we paid the bill and started to leave, and in a rude, patronizing way, they suggested that we have more drinks ""on the house"" outside in the tented area. It was so rude. I have never been rushed out of a restaurant (and our bill was over $400) like I was at Gaucho's; it was obnoxious. We were still buying drinks and were planning on spending more money. We didn't even get the chance to order dessert and sing ""Happy Birthday"" to my husband. We will never return to Gaucho's, and thus, I felt compelled to write this review. Don't go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
