I was in Norfolk for a class and asked my GPS to find a seafood restaurant. I looked at the list and decided to try this restaurant because the name sounded interesting. When I got there with my group, we were a bit leary because it's a hole in the wall and when you walk in, you are in the bar. The restaurant side is very small but we decided to stick with our choice and we were extremely glad we did. The meal started with a bread plate and had home made hush puppies, corn bread, and rolls. Oh my god, the hush puppies were the BEST I've ever tasted in my entire life! The corn bread was delicious too! The rolls were good too but paled in comparison to the hush puppies and corn bread. Even though it was a seafood restaurant, we all ironically decided to have steak. The meal was ok, the cole slaw was home made and the potato skins were yummy too. The steaks were so so but I chalked that up to the fact that it was supposed to be a seafood restaurant! After we left, I couldn't stop thinking about those hush puppies. We were there for 3 nights and had 2 of our 3 dinners at the Willoughby Seafood Inn. For our second visit, we decided to try the fried fish and shrimp. Again, the meal was ok but the hush puppies and corn bread made up for any shortcomings. I would definitely return to this place. When we were there, the waitress told us the place had just been sold but the new owners were only making minor changes. I hope they don't change the hush puppies because that is the main reason for return visits in my opinion.
Pros: HUSH PUPPIES and CORN BREAD!!
Cons: Having the entrance in the bar (cigarette smoke... yuck!)
