I originally sought acupuncture upon the advice of one of my own patients. She relayed to me that she had become allergy-free after going through acupuncture treatment. A few days before my scheduled first visit, I began having other problems related to peri-menopause and use of a prescribed steroid medication. These symptoms were very severe and required immediate medical evaluation by my internal medicine specialist. An EKG and blood-work indicated nothing was seriously wrong, so I went to Dr. Zang with my body in a total state of disharmony. I was unable to sleep, had rapid heart rate, adrenalin surges, hormonal issues as well as my constant allergy symptoms. Dr. Zang listened closely to all my history, asked pertinent questions and administered my first treatment. He recommended I stop my allergy medications, my herbal hormone replacement and my over-the-counter sleep aid. He prescribed 2 herbal supplements for the allergies and hormones.
I was astounded with the difference after only one visit. The very first day, I felt as though a fog had lifted from me. I had much improved clarity, and felt a state of "homeostasis" and energy such as I hadn't felt in about 10 years. I had been slowly declining into this foggy state, assuming it was natural aging. I knew I didn't feel like myself anymore, but traditional medicine had been unable to name it or treat it.
Currently, I have had 8 visits over a 2 month period, and am still free of all my old medications. I can drive with my car windows open, I can fly in a plane without piercing pain in my ears, and breathe freely without coughing. My heart rate is normalizing, and the adrenalin rushes are gone - the hormones are much more balanced. My appetite is healthier, my energy is better, and amazingly - I no longer have to get up in the night for trips to the bathroom - another symptom I attributed to "natural aging".
