HORRIBLE! 3/17/2008

Texas Fertility Center has the most detached, inconsiderate doctors and staff. Two of the nurses are nice and very experienced, but it's obvious the instruction from the doctor is bad. One of the nurses is so obviously completely clueless - very inexperienced and not at all knowledgeable, not even in basic interpersonal communication skills with patients. The ""on-call"" nurse a, although she was nice enough, most of the time didn't return my calls, and when she did, it was often hours later, unless I called two or three times. The only way to interact with a doctor is to go in to the office (although often times they will try to prevent you from coming in) or put up a huge stink to INSIST that the doctor call you back. Otherwise it's always a nurse calling you with test result numbers, but no interpretation. And often times the staff doesn't even call back with the numbers - you have to call and leave a message (oh did I mention they NEVER answer their phone? You always get voicemail). Not ONE single time that I ever went in did Dr. Hansard say to me, ""anything I need to know?"" or ""do you have any questions?"" And when I did ask questions, I always got the impression she was in too much of a hurry to spend much time on them.\r \r It's quite obvious that they know they are the only game in town, so they don't have to care about patient care or satisfaction.\r \r My entire experience with them, from beginning to end, has been the most infuriating and frustrating experience of my life. Every single day something happens that makes me want to pull my hair out - I can't even convey how bad this has been.\r \r It's true they have the only board certified endocrinologists in town. My advice - if you are intent on fertility treatment...Move out of Austin. Pros: only choice in town Cons: too many to list here more
