If you can't find anywhere else to live, pitch a tent somewhere. We moved out in December due to graduation. They charged us $500 to get out of our lease and then demanded that we pay rent for 2 weeks in January until the new tenants moved in. (So, what did that $500 to get out of the lease cover??) We figured they just wanted to get out of returning our security deposit but then we were billed for $1200 worth of supposed damage to the floors. We asked for a receipt for the floor repair and actually received a letter from the manager saying that the repairs have not yet been done because they left new people move in. She told us that if they had gotten the floors done before these people moved in that we would've been responsible for additional rent. Also, the whole time we lived here the stairwells smelled like stale urine.
