At first I was amazed that another cupcake shop would open just a few blocks away from the constant line in front of Sprinkles. However, being a local and seeing it alll the time, I finally decided to try a Crumbs cupcake during lunchtime. \r

Now, just a little background, I work in an office where vendors are DAILY sending us Sprinkles cupcakes (try a little originality, right?) Yeah, I jumped on this bandwagon but soon tired of the dry, too dense, too sweet and too much frosting of the famous Sprinkles.\r

I tried the ""Hostess"" cupcake at Crumbs, which was an homage to the Hostess cupcakes of everyone's childhood. I was pleasantly surprised - the icing was glossy and fresh, just a small layer topped by a squiggle of light fluffy cream. The cake was light and spongy, supermoist and not too sweet. It was absolute heaven, the kind of cupcake I would like to make myself!\r

To all those standing in front of Sprinkles on little Santa Monica - walk a few blocks down to try this tastier and more delightful treat. I would rather recieve these cupcakes than anyone else's!
Pros: Great bakery with friendly service
Cons: Tough location for anyone but locals
